M9: planning for Hungary's longest motorway reaches a milestone More good news on the M9 motorway: planning has started for a 57-kilometre section. On 5 June, a contract was signed for the design of the section between the main roads 51 and 53, which will connect Dusnok and Tompa.
In March, Világgazdaság reported on developments on the M9 motorway, when ÉKM commissioned Roden Kft. and Főmterv Zrt. to design the section from Tompa to the border.
The plan for the M9 motorway has been known since 2001. It would be around 300 kilometres long in its entirety and would link the radial motorway network.
