Over the next two weekends, there will be night maintenance work in the Sitina tunnel in Bratislava, which is part of the autumn seasonal service. The press department of the National Motorway Company (NDS) informed about this. The service is carried out in both tunnels, from Friday night to Saturday morning, and from Saturday night to Sunday morning, from 10 pm to 10 am. During this time, traffic will be diverted to the city road network.
NDS explained that the third and fourth phases of autumn maintenance will be held on the last two weekends of October, i.e. October 18-19 and October 25-26. Regular maintenance includes the cleaning of walls, sidewalks, road surfaces, sewage systems, lighting, cross passages, bridges, as well as measuring the pressure of the fire protection network and repairing cracks. Half-yearly tunnel maintenance takes place throughout Slovakia every year in spring and autumn. The NDS emphasizes that this is not only a legal requirement, but is primarily carried out for the sake of traffic safety.
